Patterns of Perception celebrates its first birthday with a day party in the About Blank garden. Semantica Records head Svreca plays a rare outdoor set, alongside cult techno duo natural/electronic.system. Stockholm’s Jin Mustafa joins residents Kim Bergstrand, Hysteria, Steve Duncan and Andreas Maan to complete the 16 hour program, which begins at 10am in the garden and moves inside in the evening.

Delicious Asian-style eats including vegan options on offer from OPAL outdoors in the afternoon.

Deep, hypnotic techno, indoors and out, early til late.

Svreca is Spanish techno’s most recent celebrated son. As a DJ, producer, and Semantica Records label head, he constantly updates his vision for the genre, and it is one where no compromises are made and the focus is firmly on getting into your mind rather than your body.

Both his own techno and the stuff he releases on his own Semantica label from the likes of Surgeon, Silent Servant and Abdulla Rashim is truly textured and experimental, abstract but inviting stuff that makes for a cerebral listening experiences. His DJ sets, too, are brave and forward looking things that pay little heed to current trends, and instead remain resolutely inventive from start to finish.

natural/electronic.system. (Antonio Giova and Valerio Gomez de Ayala) have been a force within techno’s underground since 2004, gaining respect through their much revered podcasts for cult websites such as mnml ssgs and Smoke Machine, as well as their international dj sets, including at Labyrinth in Japan. Their sound explores the deep, psychedelic potentialities of techno, tinged with experimental and dub sensibilities. They have a real ability to build their sets, allowing the music to breathe and slowly develop.

Jin Mustafa is a Stockholm based DJ with a keen sense of narrative and suspense. Her eclectic and carefully curated sets are devised of enthralling techno, delving deep into hypnotic rhythms without shying away from bold moves into industrial and experimental territories.

Mustafa has also been active as an event organizer, as part of Grupp 13, the former collective Samlingen and the club project Arcade Overseas, which combines art and music at Fylkingen - an institution for experimental music in Stockholm. She is also a member of the off-kilter techno duo Karabasan Drane.
