On January 29, Ducks. launch their debut album Ding Ding Ding at Berlin’s Badehaus Szimpla, along with their friends Libak (Space Disco, House) and DJ Zimt (Italo Disco, Future R&B). Ducks! will sing, dance, and display brightly coloured plumage in the hope of attracting your attention. Limited-edition copies of Ding Ding Ding will also be available, for those humans who wish to be the first to hear the first album made by Ducks!
Ducks!:
Lani Bagley and Craig Schuftan are making electronic music for dancing and dreaming as Ducks! Formed in Berlin in January 2014, the pair are about to release their debut album, Ding Ding Ding.
Ducks! music is electro-pop, with seductive harmonies and disco rhythms Inspired by early pioneers of electronic music such as Pierre Schaeffer and Pauline Oliveros, and also by the record player that always gets stuck in the bar they like to go to, Ducks! make long, loop-based improvisations using voices, percussion, analogue synthesisers, and a collection of small musical instruments. These become the raw material for Ducks!' disco-collages. Drones and rhythms from the loops are layered with beats, bleeps, found sounds and more vocals until they make humans dance.
Ding Ding Ding is Ducks!’ first album, recorded and produced at the band’s own Tiny Lights studio in Berlin. Here, the group’s disco beats and collage fantasias form soundtracks for 12 songs which, taken together, tell a story about two days in the life of Ducks!
Libak:
Libak is a daydreamer, nighthawk and 50% of the two-headed Berlin-based ZERBERUS collective. He has hosted electronic music nights in New York, Brussels, Iceland and Berlin.

DJ Zimt:
Cinnamon aka dj zimt spins hip hop, soul, RnB, funk, plus some beats in between. Based in Berlin, she’s originally from Sydney, Australia, which means if you listen closely you’ll hear some Aussie MCs in her sets. She has a healthy addiction to beats and is constantly on the hunt for new artists - especially female MC’s - to add to her collection. You'll find her playing at galleries and bars around Berlin from Urban Nation to Basement.
