Tim Hecker kommt mit seinem im April auf 4AD erscheinenden Album ‚Love Streams‘ nach Berlin. Geschrieben wurde das Album im Zuge von Überlegungen zu „liturgischen Ästhetiken nach ‚Yeezus‘“ und der „transzendentalen Stimme in Zeitalter von Auto-Tune“ mit Vocal-Arrangements von Jóhann Jóhannsson. Der in Berlin lebende Künstler Marcel Weber alias MFO wird die Dramaturgie des Albums in atmosphärisches Licht tauchen und auf die jüngsten Kollaboration im Rahmen von ‚Unsound‘ und ‚Technosphärenklänge‘ im Haus der Kulturen der Welt aufbauen.

Als musikalischen Gegenentwurf treten Wolf Eyes auf, die mit ihrem Trip Metal seit 1997 begeistern und verstören. Auf rund 100 Tonträgern, erschienen auf Labels wie Sub Pop, Hospital Productions, Hanson Records und De Stijl Records, haben sie in der Vergangenheit mit Künstlern wie Anthony Braxton, Black Dice, Double Leopards, John Wiese, Mammal, Prurient und Smegma kollaboriert. In ihren eigenen Worten zeichnen sich die Konzerte der Wolf Eyes durch „reine musikalische Wucht“ aus, „handgemachten post-nuklearen Terror und klaustrophobische Atmosphären, die erschütterndste und verwirrendste Horrorvision seit Bo Diddley den Gaffer-Tape-umklebten Gefechtskopf auf die Menscheit“ hat fallen lassen.

We Will Fail ist das Projekt von Aleksandra Grünholz, eine durch die SHAPE-Plattform in 2016 geförderte Künstlerin. Sie debütierte 2014 mit dem zweiteiligen Album ‚Verstörung‘ auf Monotype Rec. Schwer klassifizierbar liegt das Hauptaugenmerk ihrer Musik auf Rhythmik, was Assoziationen mit Techno und Clubmusik erzeugen dürfte, wobei die Künstlerin festhält, dass ihre Musik zum zuhören und weniger zum tanzen gedacht sei. Ihr neues Album ‚Hand That Heals / Hand That Bites‘ ist soeben auf Monotype Rec. erschienen.

The album was created while examining ideas such as “liturgical aesthetics after ‘Yeezus’” and the “transcendental voice in the age of auto-tune”, with vocal arrangements scored by composer Jóhann Jóhannsson. Berlin-based visual artist Marcel Weber aka MFO provides a dramaturgy of atmospheric light, building on the artists' first collaboration last fall at ‘Unsound’ and HKW's inaugural ‘Technosphärenklänge’ evening curated by CTM.

Born in the dead, dread-filled haunted hills of Michigan, Wolf Eyes are the rabid beasts of Trip Metal and have been plowing through new tunnels of the underworld since 1997. The group has released over 100 recordings in their relatively short lifespan, on labels such as Sub Pop, Hospital Productions, Hanson Records and De Stijl Records. They have collaborated with Anthony Braxton, Black Dice, Double Leopards, John Wiese, Mammal, Prurient, and Smegma. In their own words, Wolf Eyes concerts promise “pure audio stunn, homemade post-nuclear terror & claustrophobic atmospheres, the most shattered and confusing horrorvision since Bo Diddley dropped the duct taped warhead on all humans in 2024.”
