Blackest Ever Black returns to Berlin for the third edition of its regular-ish party at OHM, with DJ sets from Pessimist, Ossia, Silvia Kastel and Kiran Sande.

PESSIMIST
Pessimist, whose debut album is due out in summer on BEB, headlines. The Bristol-based producer made an indelible mark on 2016 with his ‘Balaklava’ 12” for BEB’s A14 series, its title track a single-minded masterclass in brooding, minimalist, dubwise drum ’n bass. EPs on UVB-76 and Osiris Music and a remix of Schiari on Ilian Tape followed, underlining the Ruffhouse associate’s status as one of the most talented and progressive artists working underground today – this missing link between Source Direct and British Murder Boys, with an unmistakeable signature sound that effortlessly bridges dnb, techno and abyssal/industrial sound design.

OSSIA
Also from Bristol, Ossia: Young Echo operative and supremely gifted DJ/producer, with 12”s of raw, rootical soundsystem techno to his name on Blackest Ever Black (2015’s ‘Red X’) and more recently Berceuse Heroique. He runs the RWD>>FWD shop and distro, and has a hand in pretty much all of the key labels to come out of that milieu: No Corner, Hotline, Peng Sound, and of course the recently minted Young Echo imprint.

SILVIA KASTEL
Berlin resident Silvia Kastel works at the intersection of advanced electronics and concrète, future-primitive industrial/DIY/post-punk, and dancefloor experimentation. A fixture of the global underground for many years as one half of Control Unit, she has been honing her solo craft in recent times and will release her debut album proper on Blackest Ever Black in Autumn of this year.
