Pride Of Gombe are a loose collective of DJs & producers that come together to play the music that they love and make people dance while they're doing it. Individually they’ve released on a number of critically acclaimed labels, from well-known staples like Rush Hour, Werk Discs, and Delsin, to cult favourites like DC Recordings, Astro:Dynamics and Don’t Be Afraid. The corps first joined forces in August 2012 with an impromptu party for friends and family at north London venue The Waiting Room. This party was FUN, so they decided to do more of them. Since then the event has gone from strength to strength, with nights at London's legendary Plastic People, Chester’s in Berlin, and a mammoth summer all-dayer at outdoor venue The Paperworks last year.
This summer the team are taking the show back on the road, with a celebratory return to their spiritual home The Paperworks for a free 9 hour party to mark the closing of the space, followed by a heavier night session down the road at Corsica Studios; and then a trip to Berlin to play at the up-and-coming Ohm club.
The Gombites are equally comfortable delicately soundtracking your solitary pizza yamming as they are providing bangers to a huddle of mash-up rave zombies, or rare kick drums to a nodding herd of discerning music journalists; and all these things can and will happen this summer at your local Pride Of Gombe event.
