____

Once again, a year's circle has immortalized itself in the wood. On this weekend we celebrate 8 years SUICIDE on Warschauer Strasse. In fact, the "8" is not quite the full story, because the club's turbulent past in the 90s remains unaccounted for.

SUICIDE CLUB first opened in the virgin Techno days, 1994 on Dircksenstrasse to be precise. SUICIDE CIRCUS 1.0. The club landscape was extremely exciting in those days, the east of Berlin offered the most versatile buildings for the young sound. The E-Werk had opened in 1993, Tresor was going since 1991, the Bunker and, of course, the WMF for the House heads. The term Techno-City was born.

The name SUICIDE goes back to the band "Suicide" by Alan Vega and Martin Rev.

These two had touched the primordial soup of Minimal Techno in the seventies, with their music, which had been reduced to synthesizers and drum computers, and showed possibilities for the future. Residents and regular guests at the time were DJ Hell, Rok, Jonzon, Ellen Allien, Rush, Steve Bug, Electric Indigo, Clé, Tanith, Wool XDP

SUICIDE was forced to close in 1999; The area around the Hackescher Markt was done up as the money of the investors came in. They found the underground and the subculture great, but please with decent return. First big back slapping of the operators and then came the termination of the lease.

SUICIDE concluded and the CASINO came. At the time in the Dircksenstrasse, larger raves were already taking place under the name CASINO, since SUICIDE was too small. Under the brand CASINO, 3 locations were included. Lastly at Ostbahnhof next to what would later be OSTGUT on the premises of today's Mercedes multi-purpose hall.

After the expedition on this site, OSTGUT opened BERGHAIN. CASINO, Ralf from SUICIDE and his partner went separate ways. Ralf Brendeler wanted to revive his original club and took his time to find the perfect place.

In 2009 the time finally arrived. On the RAW site, SUICUDE CIRCUS 2.0 opened! These 8 years are now solemnly celebrated with a fat program! Today's SUICIDE has managed to individualize itself on the RAW site. Via a staircase, the guest arrives directly from the Warschauer Strasse into the club. As before SUICIDE CIRCUS remains a Berlin club with a strict door policy. The party runs over 3 long days and the program is more than fitting for the occasion.
