Chicago gilt als schöpferisches Zentrum von House-Musik und Marshall Jefferson war Mitte der 80er Jahre einer ihrer Begründer. Seine 1986 veröffentlichte Platte “The House Music Anthem” mit dem dazugehörigen Titelstück „Move Your Body“ gilt auch heute noch als zentrale Referenz für das gesamte Genre und die weitere Ausbreitung elektronischer Musik im Allgemeinen. Auch für das Aufkommen von Acid House war er mitverantwortlich. Zusammen mit legendären DJs und Produzenten wie Frankie Knuckles, Steve Silk Hurley, Felix Da Housecat und Lil Louis schuf er das Fundament, auf dem heute eine ganze Szene fußt. An Relevanz hat er auch nach über 30 Jahren nicht eingebüßt. Beispielhaft zu hören ist das etwa in seiner Kooperation mit K-Alexi aus dem vergangenen Jahr (Kiss The Dragon). Als DJ kann er erst recht aus den Vollen schöpfen, denn seine Plattensammlung ist auf über 80.000 Scheiben angewachsen, seit er 1981 mit dem Auflegen begann. Macht euch also gefasst auf eine Zeitreise zu den Ursprüngen von House in und um Chicagos South Side und wieder zurück. Unterstützung gibt es dabei von den Berliner Lokalpatrioten Mitch und DJ Jauche.
Chicago is considered the creative center of house music and Marshall Jefferson was one of its founders in the mid-80s. His "The House Music Anthem", released in 1986 with the title "Move Your Body", is still a central reference for the entire genre and the further spread of electronic music in general. He was also one of those responsible for the advent of Acid House. Together with legendary DJs and producers such as Frankie Knuckles, Steve Silk Hurley, Felix Da Housecat and Lil Louis, he created the foundation on which a whole scene is now based. And he hasn't lost any relevance after more than 30 years. One example of this is in his cooperation with K-Alexi from last year (Kiss The Dragon). As a DJ, he can draw from anywhere as his record collection has grown to more than 80,000 records, since he started the playing in 1981. So be prepared for a journey to the origins of House in and around Chicago's South Side and back again. Support is provided by the Berlin local patriots Mitch and DJ Jauche.
