Als letztes Jahr die erste SolidariSEA die Co-Finanzierung der Sea-Watch mit ermöglicht hat, haben wir uns wie vermutlich jede*r von Euch etwas Anderes, Schöneres für 2016 gewünscht.
Stattdessen schreibt die Politik weiter an der Geschichte ihres Versagens. Die Bilder aus Idomeni, Lesbos, Calais - unerträglich. Der Umgang mit der Migration bleibt weiterhin völlig unzulänglich, von Staaten organisiert und in Rechtsbrüchen wie schmierigen Deals zuletzt mit der Türkei zementiert.
Humanität, sinnvolle Konzepte, ein politischer Diskurs angelehnt an die tatsächlichen Zustände: nach wie vor Fehlanzeige.
Dem will SolidariSea weiterhin etwas entgegensetzen und diesmal zwei Initiativen unterstützen, deren Ziel es ist, Geflüchteten in Seenot zu helfen: SOS MEDITERRANEE und JUGEND RETTET. Beiden Projekten gemein ist, dass sie sich vernetzen, politische Forderungen formulieren und wie im Fall von Jugend Rettet auch Botschafter*innen europaweit aufstellen und so ein Netzwerk der Helfenden und nach Lösungen Suchenden bildet.
Beide werden am 26. Mai im Watergate ihre Pläne und Ziele vorstellen und wir laden erneut das Publikum herzlich ein, sich zu beteiligen.
Ohne Beteiligung keine Veränderung, und Wegschauen oder -wie von der Politik angeraten- Bilder auszuhalten oder nationalistische Ausfahrten zu tolerieren bleiben inakzeptable Lösungsvorschläge.
Kein Mensch ist illegal.

When the first SolidariSEA helped co-finance the Sea-Watch project in 2015, all of us probably hoped for something different and better in 2016.
Instead, decision-makers keep on writing their own history of political failure. The images from Idomeni, Lesbos, Calais – unbearable. How migration is handled remains totally inadequate, organised by states and cemented in dirty deals such as the recent one with Turkey.
Appropriate humanity, useful concepts, and political discourse oriented towards the actual situation are still lacking.
SolidariSea will keep on supporting initiatives that stand up to these conditions, again focusing on two projects that help refugees at sea: SOS MEDITERRANNEE and JUGEND RETTET. Both build up networks and put forward political demands, with e.g. Jugend Rettet installing ambassadors in different cities so as to create a network of people who help and seek solutions.
On 26 May, both projects present their plans and objectives at Watergate, and you are kindly invited to join in the support.
There's no change without participation, and looking away or -as advised by official politics- enduring the images and tolerating nationalist expressions remain inacceptable solution proposals.
No one is illegal.
