REEF ist die Partyreihe der kanadischstämmigen DJ Darwin. Der Name geht auf Korallenriffe zurück, die eine ebenso vielfältige Fauna beherbergen, wie es Darwin im übertragenen Sinne auch für die Clubgemeinschaft möchte: einen Ort anbieten, an dem sich die unterschiedlichsten Lebewesen wohlfühlen können. Musikalisch sind die REEF-Partys in einem britischen Verständnis von Clubmusik geerdet, das UK Bass, Breaks und Global Rhythms auf einem Floor zelebriert. Zur ersten REEF im Berghain spielt mit dem in Bristol lebenden Batu ein DJ und Producer, der zu den innovativsten Aktivisten des Hardcore Continuum zählt. Nicht nur durch seine eigenen Sets und Releases – sein Label Timedance wird als eine der besten und fortschrittlichsten Plattformen für außergewöhnlichen Techno und Bassmusik-Mutationen geschätzt. Dazu gibt es ein B2B von Darwin und der Londoner DJ re:ni, sowie ein Set von REEF-Resident Esposito.

REEF is the party series by Canadian-born DJ Darwin. The name refers to coral reefs, which are home to an equally diverse fauna, as Darwin figuratively wants to offer the club community: a place where a wide variety of creatures can feel at home. Musically, the REEF parties are grounded in a British sense of club music that celebrates UK bass, breaks and global rhythms on one floor. The first REEF party at Berghain will feature Bristol-based Batu, a DJ and producer who is one of the most innovative activists in the hardcore continuum. Not only through his own sets and releases – his label Timedance is appreciated as one of the best and most progressive platforms for exceptional techno and bass music mutations. There will also be a B2B from Darwin and London DJ re:ni, as well as a set from REEF resident Esposito.
