BEAU WANZER (L.I.E.S., NATION) – US, Chicago – *exclusive Berlin* Live)

Beau is back in Berlin for an exclusive live session for Mannequin Records.

For the past several years, some of the most talked-about figures in the world of techno have been the freaks—the outsiders, the punks, the weirdos, the people on the fringes who approach electronic music from non-traditional perspectives, bringing to bear influences from punk, industrial, noise, experimental, and hardcore to create dance music that sounds anything but ordinary. Beau Wanzer, self-described weirdo, is one of these figures; his music incorporates the atmosphere and motifs of early industrial, the rhythms of vintage minimal synth, and the raw, gritty feel of turn-of-the-century European electro.

KIRAN SANDE (Blackest Ever Black)

London-born, Berlin-based record label Blackest Ever Black was founded in 2010 by Kiran Sande to document a new gothic impulse in underground electronic music; over the past five years it has evolved into something far more idiosyncratic and genre-blind.
Home to Raime, Tropic of Cancer, Dalhous, Black Rain, Cut Hands and many others, Blackest Ever Black doing what they do best – connecting the dots between early industrial, doom, drone and the contemporary dance scene.

"The sound of the label is flexible, but its attitude fixed. Everyone involved has been immersed in dance music for years, but more meaningful inspiration at this stage is coming from the '79-'89 industrial, goth and synth underground. Fundamentally I'm just interested in music that dares to be about, or at least gesture towards, something other than its efficiently functioning self...".

JASSS (Mannequin Records/Anunnaki Cartel)

Moving with finesse between forgotten Japanese punk gems, unrequited German industrial beat downs and obscure Polish experimental sounds whilst incorporating contemporary noise, acid, techno and some of her own creations JASSS weaves a profound auditory tapestry: moving effortlessly through time, location and sonic fascinations. You know, like a real DJ, giving you what you need not what you want, striding through time & space to ensure the very best for their dancefloor and wider listening public. JASSS first released an E.P. on Amir Alexander’s and Chris Mitchell’s Annunaki Cartel, with more tracks set for release over the coming months for Mannequin Records. Keep a blood-shot beady eye on this act, talent this bright won’t stay in the shadows for long.
