Ryan Oblique
With music signed to such diverse labels as techno mainstays M_nus Records and Lucidflow, UKbased GhettoHouse label Sleazy G and leftfield Berlin label Compute Music (amongst others), it's clear to see that Oblique Industries is not one to be restricted by the boundaries of genre. Drawing influence from techno, house, minimal, electro, progressive and experimental sounds, Oblique Industries has crafted a sound as much to tantalize the mind as the body, exploring the contrasts between light and dark, loud and soft, minimal and maximal... whilst delving deep into the spaces in between.
Aside from his own productions, Oblique Industries is well known for his work as a remix artist, especially after being hand-selected by Richie Hawtin as the winner of the Plastikman 'Ask Yourself' Remix Competition out of over 1300 entries from around the world, earning him a place on Plastikman's 'Arkives' on seminal techno label M_nus Records. Oblique Industries' music is also available through Compute Music, Sleazy G, Lucidflow, Interchill, Bigger Deer, BUS, Planetaria Recordings and Polish label We Are Your Music Mate, as well as Australia's own Smash Bang, Subsonic Music, and Open Records with more tracks slated for release soon.
Now based in Berlin, Germany, Oblique Industries has gained a reputation as one of Australia’s premier exports, attracting the attention of some of the world’s events, including the likes of Garbicz Fesival (Poland), Rainbow Serpent Festival (Australia), Fusion Festival (Germany) and Amsterdam Dance Event (Netherlands). Bringing his electric live show to the stages of Europe, Asia and the Middle East, Oblique Industries has performed throughout France, Germany, Poland, Croatia, UK, Netherlands, Norway, Lebanon, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, China and Japan, it's obvious that Oblique Industries has no plans of slowing down anytime soon...
Andy Sexton
Andy Sexton’s travels have lead him to playing music in Australia, North America & Europe including Festivals such as Burning Man, Symbiosis & Rainbow Serpent Festival. Previous remixes include Mark Henning under the moniker CLOSER APART & he is currently working on his debut EP with Hannes Bieger on remix duties.
Blessed from an early age to a life of travel, Andy never felt he has belonged to any one place or culture. In a globalised world of cross pollination he permits himself to borrow ideas universally, deconstructing their form and reassembling how he sees fit.
One can expect Andy’s sets to be eclectic, soulful, elastic but always dance floor oriented.
