Inverted Audio return to ÆDEN on Friday 25 March to host a night of dubby, thoughtful techno and playful breakbeats from Konduku, Kate Miller, DJ Heartbreak and Midgar Records label boss Severja.
Konduku has built a niche for himself with quirky leftfield breaks, dazzling drum & bass and techno hybrids since his first outing on Nous'klaer. He's got something special and he loves exploring every possible aspect of rhythm & groove when creating his techno-not-techno tracks. Mind-blowing EPs on Spazio Disponibile and Delsin Mantis offered up a multitude of complex polyrhythmic half-tempo tribal growlers. He'll be blasting through his bag of mid-2000s Italian techno, bass dominant breakbeats and hypnotic heavyweight stompers.
Kate Miller runs Body Verse a mix series and label as well as living & breathing dubby bleepy techno. Kate's been banging it out for years in Berlin since moving in 2011 and has been involved with the Oscillate Parties as well as showcasing her transcendental tendencies with shows on Cashmere Radio and Refuge Worldwide where she holds a monthly residency. She'll be offering up some irregular but always pumping dubbed out techno.
Severja is the new alias of the mighty Midgar label boss, Jacopo. Heading up Midgar since 2014, and designing the phenomenal accompanying artwork, the label has eschewed your conventional thump in favour of more carefully curated and often beautiful techno from Wata Igarashi, Forest Drive West and Nuel. Nothing conventional about the tracks he spins either, combining trippy vortex techno with deep pulsating rhythmical bangers.
DJ Heartbreak, who has been investigating into all things dub via a semi-regular show at Refuge Worldwide, completes March's lineup and will be avoiding your regular 4/4 Berlin schranz by diving deep into tonnes of dozzy-driven head twirlers and weightless Bristolian indebted bombs. As always expect some unusual blends and vibrant textures from the Berlin resident.
