Also kreuzt euch den 7.

Cut Hands [BlackectEverBlack, Downwards]

Cut Hands is the new solo project from a true icon of the British underground, William Bennett.
Bennett founded Whitehouse in 1980, with a mind to creating "the most extreme music ever recorded". They succeeded. The group remained at the forefront of the experimental and noise scenes over the next 27 years, invariably creating controversy and stimulating debate with their choice of violent and sexual subject matter, before eventually disbanding in 2007. A specialist in linguistics and unconscious communication, Bennett now helms the mass hypnosis experimental project, Extralinguistic Sequencing, which premiered at Tate Britain in 2010. For Cut Hands, rhythm is his chosen weapon; on recently released album Afro Noise I - eight years in the making - he utilises vaudou and Central African percussion in radical new ways, generating a sound unrivalled in its physical intensity.

Dj Skirt [Semantica, Horizontal Ground]

DJ Skirt (real name Bethany DeMoss) was born in Houston, Texas and has been residing in Birmingham UK for the last decade. She bought her turntables in 1998 and has been mixing vinyl ever since, having played records in many techno clubs all over the UK and internationally in places like Berlin, Athens, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Glasgow, Dublin, Amsterdam in recent years. DJ Skirt started producing her own music in 2001 and has released records on Horizontal Ground, Frozen Border, Semantica and remixes on labels such as Semantica, Perc Trax and Sect. Her production style is somewhat different to her DJ approach. Her own productions and remixes often show a much more experimental side of the artist, however when she is behind the decks it is purely the intention to devastate the dancefloor with dark and powerful techno beats to make the body move.

An – I [Cititrax, Power Vacuum]

‘An-i’ is the analogue-focused project of Lee Douglas. The An-I alias debuted with a record on ‘Cititrax’; the sub-label of Veronica Vasicka's ‘Minimal Wave. Lee has also a track as ‘An-I’ on a various artists release on Power Vacuum. The Berlin-based New Yorker has previously also worked under the names ‘TBD’ (with Justin Vandervolgen) and ‘Bad News’, with L.I.E.S. founder Ron Morelli. According to Cititrax, his debut release showcases his love affair with machines and "fronts a hard hitting sound beyond category, moving from techno to jack to punk and to noise." The An-I LIVE performance is composed of 2 members; Lee Douglas and Alessandro Adriani. Their sets are short, and more comparable to that of a live-band, with a powerful presence on stage, they are full of energy stemming from punk influences.

Pan Daijing (China)

Perched on the cutting edge where music and art scenes blur into one another, Pan Daijing’s music is steeped in dark noise, cinematic atmospherics and sexual charge, drifting into eerie Morphosis-esque drone and giddy, twisted beats. She’s crafted sonic installations for exhibitions and live scored art performances and dance shows; recordings-wise, there’s a tape just came out on Berlin’s fledgling Noisekölln. Influenced equally by 1980s industrial music, philosophy and Chinese minority and Tibetan music, field recordings in temples and body sound performance are all in day’s work for this bladerunner.
