To celebrate the release of Down In The Meadow, the new album by Gordan, Morphine Records is dropping a 2 nights weekender at Arkaoda, showcasing some of the label’s talent with a special focus on Upperground Orchestra’s formation.
Gordan, the power band consisting of Serbian singer Svetlana Spajic Together with Guido Möbius and Andi Stetcher, bring their feedbacks and grooves with traditional Serbian singing and combine driving powerful vamps with delicate and intense melodies. DJ Die Soon, the haunting Beatmaker will present new material made of his ultra bass and beats to torture the rig. Marta De Pascalis with her hamonics and loops from beyond will present a new piece for Synthesizer and Tape. To close the first night Rabih Beaini will mash elements from across time and space for a special DJ set.
On Saturday the focus is on Upperground Orchestra, the Italian space Jazz band, will have solo performances by the individual musicians. Solo sets by Piero Bittolo Bon, Tommaso Cappellato, Daniele De Santis, Alvise Seggi and Rabih Beaini will then join for a final session of spiritual and hyper Jazz à la Upperground Orchestra. Marylou, the eclectic and vibrating selector, will then grace the floor with club experimentations in her true style, joined by Mieko Suzuki for a b2b and the later will then close the whole event with her smashing and unique DJ set.
