It’s finally happening! Backhaus turns Backhouse for our very first house-only night at the beautiful Beate-Uwe.
On August 1st, we’re kicking off the new month with groovy vibes and taking you on a journey through the house-cosmos – from rhythmic n’ soulful to bouncy n’ old-school. Together with our usual suspect residents, Paulita and Josiane will sweeten your night the Backhaus way.

Josiane is a Berlin-based DJ with roots in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Since stepping behind the decks, she has been shaping a distinct musical language – one that’s defined by emotion, groove, and a deep sensitivity for atmosphere.
Beyond the booth, Josiane curates Privateparadisefm, a monthly radio show on Komrad94, and hosts Sugar Machine on Refugeworldwide. She is also the co-founder of Grounded_Grooves, a community project that combines music, food, and creative exchange in warm, safe spaces.

Paulita is a young selector with an old soul, digging up rare grooves—from Brazilian disco and deep-cut disco to cosmic jazz and slow-burning house. Born in LA, shaped by her Chilean heritage, and now based in Berlin, she’s slowly becoming a familiar face in underground spaces, spinning unexpected, always raw selections filled with records you never knew you needed.
She’s a Kiosk.radio resident (under her current and her former DJ name Moody) and co-founder of Cactus.berlin, a Berlin-based grassroots style party and art-infused movement rooted in smooth grooves, unexpected twists and everything in between.
