Nach elf Jahren auf diesem Planeten, innerhalb derer Morphine Records oft vorgeworfen wurde, unberechenbar zu sein, zeigt sich das Label mit einer unheiligen Leistungsschau inspirierter und einmaliger Sessions. Mit dem jüngsten Labeloutput zwischen Avantgarde und Experiment wird diese Unberechenbarkeit nur bestätigt – wobei Morphine Records den Weg der Raw Soul Revolution nicht vergessen hat.
‚Morphine 11‘ ist eine Feier und Erinnerung daran, dass das Thema Tanz weiterhin gültig ist. Die Detroit-Legende Anthony ‘Shake’ Shakir, Noise-Zauberer Container und Maestro Donato Dozzy einerseits, neue Kollaborationen andererseits: KAFR ist das Treffen von Morphine-Labelbetreiber Rabih Beaini und seiner TR-808-Drumpatterns mit den psychedelischen, unkonventionellen Klängen der indonesischen Band Senyawa. Eine Premiere feiert auch das Trio Hieroglyphic Being + Container + Sofia Jernberg, die Noise, Rock und Electronic mit Jernbergs unglaublicher Stimme neu kontextualisieren. Der iranische Sounddesigner Sote wird penibel gestaltete elektronische Rhythmen und Muster mitbringen, Rush Hours finest Mark Cremins kommt als Ehrengast hinzu. Dancefloor-Umgestaltung à la Morphine: roh, unorthodox, inspiriert, das Unbekannte und Unkonventionelle über elf Stunden+ abschreitend.

After 11 years on this earth, during which Morphine Records was often accused of being erratic, we will celebrate and feature a unholy amount of inspired and one-off sessions. Given the latest label outputs leaning towards the avant-garde and experimental, the ‘erratic’ claim rings even more true. But Morphine Records hasn't forgotten the path of the Raw Soul Revolution.
‘Morphine 11’ is a celebration and a reminder that the Dance is very much still on. Artists like Detroit legend Anthony 'Shake' Shakir, noise wizard Container and the maestro Donato Dozzy, meet the newly born collaboration Kafr, featuring Lebanese label owner Rabih Beaini driving his TR-808 drum patterns over the psychedelic, unconventional sound of Senyawa – the incredibly acclaimed Indonesian band whose infamous Menjadi album was produced by Beaini. The premiere trio consisting of Hieroglyphic Being, Container and Sofia Jernberg will explore noise, rock and electronics in the only way they know how, hinting at the avant-garde with Jernberg's incredible, unique vocal exploitation. Sote, the Iran based sound designer who delivered the amazing ‚Architectonic‘ LP in 2014, will grace the room with meticulously designed electronic rhythms and patterns, and Rush Hour's finest Mark Cremins as a special guest. The dance floor re-creation a' la Morphine. Raw, unorthodox, and inspired sounds that pursued the unknown and the unconventional.
