For the first edition of the year, Altered Soul Experiment invite Soul In The Hole, the legendary party collaboration of Sadar Bahar and Lee Collins to the intimate surroundings of OHM Berlin.
Growing up in Chicago, Sadar Bahar and Lee Collins were already heavily immersed in record culture and the city’s blossoming dance scene of the 80’s when they met at the infamous Muzic Box. The pair instantly bonded over their unquenchable desire to find records that had been forgotten or over looked. They also shared the same feeling that many DJ’s at the time were stuck shopping in the same places and playing the same sound. This spurred them to go down the opposite route, digging harder and deeper than their contemporaries. Going against the grain of trends at the time the pair started the now world renowned Soul In The Hole parties with their own unique blend of Soul, Disco, Funk and Gospel. Staying true to the music they love, the concept continued to flourish culminating in 2012 with a Soul In The Hole compilation released by UK label BBE Music. The release was a masterclass in curation which brought Collins and Bahar’s sound to the world. To this day, whether playing together or solo, the pair continue to share their life-long wealth of music knowledge across the world with the same love and dedication they carried when they started out.
