He tried therapy. He tried changing seats. He tried to outdo himself at the challenge of always standing in the slowest queue at Bio Company. He flipped a coin. He hit the bottom. He tried not to scan any news feeds for an entire week. Nothing worked. Time just kept passing. And he couldn't help feeling that he was not really in sync.

The town he had grown up in vanished in 1990. The state it was located in ceased to exist around the same time. Two years before, the avant-garde band he was playing in had been stopped by that very state from performing in West Berlin alongside Einstürzende Neubauten. Now, the First Lady of France invited them for a gig in Paris.

After Dada came techno. After AG Geige (the avant-garde band) came raster-noton, archiv für ton und nichtton (the avant-garde label). After Trickbeat (yes, that was an album title in 1989) came Rhythm (oh sure, that was an album title in 2007). Time kept passing. But FRANK BRETSCHNEIDER was ahead of it at all times.

And he still is. Just try to catch him. On May 5, 2017, the Berlin based musician, composer and visual artist will perform an audio-visual live set for KOOKOO at OHM Gallery. Try to track BRETSCHNEIDER's precise placement of sound particles on an intriguingly interwoven time line. Follow the visual echo his musical structures have on the big screen. Admire his timing.

Time is nothing but a continuum that lacks spatial dimensions. You'd imagine it to be fragile. Shallow. Easy to deal with. Still no one dares to stop it. Many feel it's the most powerful force of nature to come upon us. We'll see. Counting the ticks and the tocks: CARLY FISCHER. Freezing and unfreezing frame after frame: YUKIHIRO TAGUCHI. Meditating and reflecting on the same old question: MIEKO SUZUKI & ARA. Is it tomorrow, or just the end of time..?

Let's go KOOKOO!
