My inner critic, Miss Douce thought, stifles adventurous singing. I ought to get rid of it, she said to Miss Kennedy. Ought to dig up some dirt behind the clichés, excavate what's hidden under overthinking. Words and sounds have lost meaning and life through years of repetition, Miss Kennedy replied. We must uncover the face of concentration, and formalize its structure. Miss Douce rejoiced. Oh, I think I know someone who does just that!

When BABY VULTURE raises her many voices it's like a call, pure, long and throbbing. She digs, she excavates. In an almost archeological manner, she keeps searching for distinct tones and noises that she turns into transportive collages where fragments of sound, space, and time come together. Like stories sung by sirens.

BABY VULTURE was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. She studied fine art in London and is now based in Berlin. Somewhere along the way she almost lost her head over musique concrète, her heart to Cathy Berberian's voice and to genre-bending DJing. She worked as a multimedia artist and released music under the alias Cornerbred, a collaboration with DJ Magda. Another fruit of their liaison is the Perm event series that blends sonic and visual experiences into an innovative aesthetic experience. Finally, for other plash and silent roar, BABY VULTURE makes her first appearance at KOOKOO on September 8.

At OHM Gallery, BABY VULTURE's audio narratives will establish a dialogue with poetic works of fine art. CARLY FISCHER, a resident of Melbourne, Australia and a long-time KOOKOO collaborator, will be back in Berlin to show a sculptural piece specifically created for this occasion. // \ has been a regular contributor to BABY VULTURE's Perm events. He works with custom designed luminous objects whose reflections will draw a veil awave upon the sound waves at OHM. A camera, human presence, and intuition are the main tools of YUKIHIRO TAGUCHI. With this basic triad, he will try nothing more than to fuck with the fabric of time.

Happily giving a hand in digging, unhiding, and maybe even singing are your hosts MIEKO SUZUKI & ARA.

Let's go KOOKOO!
