One year since we first came together, on Friday 17th November 2017, on the dancefloor of OHM. One more miraculous year of our lives on this wonderful planet. One year of sharing pleasures, loving one another, learning, carrying on efforts, crying losses, coming together and going our own ways, creating art and music.

Yet another year during which we feel sometime helpless as individuals while facing a flawed system - a fallacious first attempt at giving order to our ever growing human society. So wrong, that we’ve let it wipe out most animals and biodiversity from the surface of our same wonderful planet.

Until the last day of our stay, we will continue to embody the example that we wish to convey around us, to relay the vibration which resonates for all of us. Until finally, a great majority of those at power are replaced by competent and well intended individuals. Until a second system is set in place.

DJ Rahaan

Rahaan grew up in Chicago. As a teenager, he was playing music from his cassette tapes to his dance crew called the Chuck Brothers. Inspired from his early youth by Soul Train, Rahaan keeps to this day, both his feet flying over the dancefloor, knowing which groove will make his dancers get down.

It was in 1988, at the age of 18, that Rahaan naturally started DJing. In Chicago, he was one of the lucky witnesses to the insane atmospheres that DJs like Ron Hardy and Frankie Knuckles would instill at legendary places like the Music Box or the Warehouse.

“The 80’s was what brought me this far and whatever happens in my future always will reflect what I learned from my past…” says Rahaan. Next to close friends such as Sadar Bahar and Lee Collins, Rahaan continues to convey through his sets the musical multiplicity so characteristic of that magical era in Chicago.

Alex From Tokyo

In constant flow, Alex from Tokyo is an international man of musical wonderment, with a career that extends over three decades and continents. It simply is unthinkable to pin him down to a given space-time continuum.

Alex grew up in Japan, where he lived over 20 years. There he became a staple of the Tokyo scene, working for the local branch of the infamous record store and UK label Mr. Bongo and as a correspondent for Laurent Garnier’s F Communications.

In 2004, Alex moved to New York City, where he established himself as a reference, playing at many of the city’s institutions - Le Bain, Good Room, Cielo, APT… In the meantime he developed his production as one half of Tokyo Black Star - producing for Deeply Rooted, mule, Planet E and his own imprint World Famous.

For the past year, Alex from Tokyo has called Berlin home, and OHM, his house.

Possible Futures

Lifelong friends Paul and Alessio started compiling mixtapes long before they could get into clubs.

They have since learnt that the eternal act of dancing is one of the most active forms of contemplation. Facing our own selves in the mirror of movement, we realize that indeed we are reflections of one another at all times. Compassion forms and gives way to kindness and love.

Over the past 20 years, Possible Futures have witnessed the wildest fauna and flora offered by the world’s many nocturnal jungles. It is through their open and eclectic selections that Possible Futures turn the dancefloor into spaces of self-discovery and musical transe-en-dance.
