In January 2016, Santuri East Africa invited Jan Schulte (a.k.a Wolf Müller) to participate in a recording session with the Nile Project in Aswan, Egypt. The Nile Project annually gathers together master musicians from the Nile basin for a recording project that also serves as an example for cross-border collaboration. Working with individual artists from Egypt, Kenya, Sudan and Somalia, some of the results of the session are now coming to light via Nouvelle Ambiance, the Paris - based label founded by Sofrito’s Hugo Mendez.
