This one has been in our heads for quite some time with as starting point a conversation with family close friend Sadar Bahar. Mainly known for owning an impressive collection of rare soul and disco records, Sadar is also a long time collector of African music which can be heard in his mixes with killer tracks such as Rim & Kasa "Love my for real", Fela Kuti's "Original Sufferhead" or Moussa Doumbia "Keleya". Sadar has been a regular at JAW for over ten years now, having shared the DJ booth with the likes of Theo Parrish, Floating Points, Hunee or his Soul In The Hole brother Lee Collins.

When it comes to African sound, there's a few DJs you can't pass by. One of them is definitely Philadelphia-based versatile DJ and producer Rich Medina. His infamous Jump N Funk party has now been rocking dancefloors across the globe for over 15 years. Honouring Fela Kuti & Tony Allen's contribution to music as well as his political and cultural legacy, Medina has made his events a platform to celebrate Afro-life across the Black Diaspora. Rich just recently released a double LP compilation on BBE dedicated to his legendary party.

Paulo Goncalves is the co-founder of one of the best record shops out there when it comes to African, Brazilian, soul or spiritual jazz music, Superfly Records based in Paris. A favorite spot to the likes of Gilles Peterson, Rich Medina or DJ Spinna when they are in town. Paulo has been diggin African sound for years now, going to the old continent with the ultime quest to find some beautiful forgotten treasures on wax. Superfly is also responsible for the amazing reissues of gems such as Ebo Taylor's Twer Nyame, Orchestre Rail Band or Asiko Rock Group's Same.

The love for Africa and its music heritage is what bring these three gentlemen together. It will be the first they join forces for a night essentially dedicated to the Motherland sound. Be prepared!
