CDR returns to Prince Charles for 2017 with a new series of events in collaboration with dBs Music Berlin.
Kicking off the new year, we are super keen to hear what the CDR community has been cooking up in their studios since we last danced together. Our Open CDR session will return and the dropbox will soon be live for you to submit your works.
We will be announcing some exciting news over the next few days, but first of all, we are delighted to unveil our first artist insight of the year:
We are very excited to welcome one of the best kept secrets in Berlin to join us at CDR for a special on-the-sofa session - Early Sounds Recordings featuring Pellegrino and next-big-things Nu Guinea.
Early Sounds Recordings is co-run by Pellegrino, Massimo Dln of Nu Guinea (both now based in Berlin) and Dario aka Mystic Jungle, with a strong link with their Naples musical and conceptual heritage, the label is home to a number of Italian artists who have quietly been forging a distinctly niche for themselves. Their path traces a lineage between afro-cosmic sounds developed in Italy in the 70s and 80s, to jazz funk, disco, boogie and house, what they like to call "mediterranean disco".
2016 saw Nu Guinea (Lucio and Massimo) drop two hugely well received mini LPs, the 2nd of which "The Tony Allen Experiments" reached the top spot in Phonica's Best LPs of 2016.

Pellegrino, Lucio and Massimo will be joining Tony on the sofa to talk about running a label, working with Tony Allen and sharing some works in progress for 2017.
What's more, we'll be presenting a 30 minute live show from Carlos Rizzi - the Columbian electronic / experiemental artist currently studing at dBs Music Berlin.
