Verhallte Dub-Chords bilden das zentrale Thema des 2002 von Kenneth Christiansen gegründeten, und bis heute schwer kultigen, Labels Echocord, das uns mit dem Detroiter Produzenten Luke Hess und dem einst von Montreal nach Berlin gezogenen Deadbeat gleich zwei absolute Schlüsselfiguren moderner Dub-Genres mitbringt. Speziell Dub-Techno wie Deadbeats „Vampire“, oder Lukes „The Problem of Decay“ – beides unbestrittene Klassiker auf Echocord – oder auch deren letzte EPs auf dem Sub-Label Echocord Colour dürften heute also im Schwarzen Raum taktgebend sein. Darüber im Grünen Raum übernimmt derweil der nicht zuletzt als eine Hälfte der Analogue Cops bekannt gewordene Lucretio mit kräftigen House-Beats und leichter Lo-fi-Affinität, die ebenfalls gerne mal ins Dubbige oder Breaks abdriftet. Wie auch ganz aktuell sein Venezianischer Landsmann Sagats, veröffentlichte er kürzlich auf dem äußerst interessanten Kroatischen Label Vakum Records, das hier ebenso als Schnittstelle genannt sei wie Tobias Gullbergs Crime City Disco. Nebenan gleitet außerdem der Schwede Samo DJ experimentell durch die Styles von Downtempo über Synth-Pop zu Trip-Hop-Breaks und wieder zu etwas ganz Ungeahntem zurück, wofür auch seine Remixe für Talaboman oder Kornél Kovács stehen. Danach widmet sich diesmal Homeboy dem Closing-Set im Roten Raum.
Echoes and reverbs are the obvious focus of the 2002 founded label Echocord by leading Danish dub-techno producer Kenneth Christiansen, who built up the scene in Copenhagen like nobody else. Tonight he brings two of the most relevant producers of the label to the Black Room, who are also true key-figures of the genre: Detroit-based Luke Hess and the dub-all-round talent Deadbeat from Montreal were responsible for some of the labels biggest anthems, which they accompanied with plenty of superb tracks during the last decade and even longer. Upstairs the Green Room gets more house-oriented as always, this time with some rough beats of the two Italian guys Lucretio, one half of The Analogue Cops, and the fresh talent Sagats. Besides lots of collaborations, both were in charge for the last (and definitely worth mentioning) releases of Croatian imprint Vakum Records, and also our resident-dj Tobias Gullberg signed Lucretio for Crime City Disco – what a perfect musical match again. Next door, Swedish jetsetter Samo DJ headlines the Red Room with his experimental mixture of styles from downtempo to synth-pop, breaks and something yet unknown. Check out his outstanding remixes for Talaboman or Kornél Kovács to get an idea of this man’s style-clash, which will be continued with after-hour-house-sounds by Longhair-member Homeboy until late noon.
