Mit Acid Maria und Sylvie Marks haben die Teichmänner gleich zwei legendäre Techno Damen zu ihrer nun ins 10te Jahr gehende Festplatten Family Reihe eingeladen.
Beide blicken dabei auf mehr als drei Jahrzehnte hinter den Plattenspielern zurück:
Sylvie Marks hat ihre DJ Karriere u.a. als Resident im Frankfurter Dorian Gray begonnen, Acid Maria als Resident im Münchner Ultraschall.
Beiden hört man ihre Liebe zu Detroit an und die gebündelte Energie der frühen Jahre, mit diesem speziellen Techno Soul, den man als das schwarze Pendant zum Techhouse sehen kann, aber eben rauer, härter und mit mehr Funk.
Acid Maria und Sylvie Marks beschwören mit ihrer Musik die Lebensgeister der Techno und Clubkultur und nehmen uns dabei mit auf eine Zeitreise:
Durch 30 Jahre elektronische Clubkultur, in die Warehouses in Chicago und Detroit, ins Dorian Gray, ins Ultraschall, in die Kellerklubs Berlins nach dem Mauerfall bis ins hier und jetzt und durch diese Nacht im Suicide Circus.
Heute Abend wird die Hütte in die vertrauten Hände von Zurima & Freunden gelegt, mit dem Ziel, besondere Musik thematisch geschickt zu präsentieren. Zuri zieht oft die Fäden im Hintergrund, sie ist als Kulturschaffende und Organisatorin sowohl in Berlin als auch international tätig, ua. als Teil des CTM Festivals.
Zuri Maria verfügt über mehr als fünfzehn Jahre Erfahrung in den Bereichen Public Relations und Marketing. Sie ist Partnerin der Kommunikationsagentur Stars & Heroes und hat nationale und internationale Medienkampagnen für Musiker und Labels weltweit durchgeführt. Zuri ist zudem Partnerin verschiedener audiovisueller Medien und betreibt derzeit ihr Unternehmen ZURI & MARIA (eine Agentur für Musik- und Künstlermanagement, Buchungen, Projekt- und Eventkonzeption). In der Vergangenheit war Zuri auch Musikkuratorin des HAU Hebbel am Ufer. Ab Mai 2019 wird sie Berlin auf einen neuen Weg begeben, um einen Nachtclub in NRW zu gründen. Bevor sie die Stadt verlässt, wird sie ein 4-tägiges Festival namens "THE ONLY GOOD SYSTEM" veranstalten.
With Acid Maria and Sylvie Marks the Teichmänner have invited two legendary techno ladies to their now 10th year Festplatten Family series.
Both look back on more than three decades behind the turntables:
Sylvie Marks started her DJ career as a resident at Dorian Gray in Frankfurt, Acid Maria as a resident at Münchner Ultraschall.
You can hear both their love for Detroit and the bundled energy of the early years with this special Techno Soul, which can be seen as the black counterpart to the Techhouse, but just
rougher, harder and with more radio.
Acid Maria and Sylvie Marks conjure up the spirits of techno and club culture with their music and take us on a journey through time:
Through 30 years of electronic club culture, into the warehouses in Chicago and Detroit, into Dorian Gray, into ultrasound, into the basement clubs of Berlin after the fall of the Berlin Wall until here and now and through this night in Suicide Circus.
This evening, the hut will be placed in the trusting hands of Zurima & friends, with the aim to present special music in a thematically clever way, in Berlin. Zuri often pulls the strings in the background, but Zuri Maria is a cultural creator and organiser in the fields of music & art, too, active both in Berlin and internationally. She is also part of the CTM Festival.
Zuri Maria has more than fifteen years of experience in public relations and marketing. She has been a partner of the communications agency Stars & Heroes, and has run national and international media campaigns for musicians and labels worldwide. Zuri has also acted as partner for various audio-visual media outlets worldwide while currently operating her company ZURI & MARIA (an agency for music and artist management, bookings, project, and event conception). In the past, Zuri was also the music curator of the theater HAU Hebbel am Ufer. Starting In May 2019, she will leave Berlin on a new venture to set up a nightclub in NRW. Before she leaves town, she will do a 4 day festival called, "THE ONLY GOOD SYSTEM". Alongside herself, working on the music side of things, co-curator Pascal Jurt adds theoretical approaches to the materiality of sound systems.
