Mit Ibadan Records prägt Jerome Sydenham seit über 20 Jahren die internationale House-Szene und gestaltete besonders den New-York House der späten Neunziger und frühen Zweitausender maßgeblich mit. In Europa sorgte er ab 2003 mit Hits wie „Sandcastles“ und „Timbuktu“ für aufsehen. Diese Stücke waren für Sets von Ricardo Villalobos genauso essentiell wie für das Sound-Verständnis der Rhein-Main-Posse als Bastion für House in Deutschland. Über sein breit aufgestelltes Portfolio kombiniert er nicht nur in seinen Produktionen Genres fließend miteinander, sondern überträgt dies auch auf seine DJ-Sets. Damit gehört er noch immer zur absoluten Spitzenklasse.
Deadbeat dagegen beherrscht neben Techno (zu hören etwa auf der Our Rotten Roots EP) vor allem Dub und infiltriert damit elektronische Musik. Sein stilistischer Ansatz lässt sich auf der kürzlich über Craig Richards 7inch Label Tuppence besonders gut nachvollziehen.
Auch Andre Lodemann hat eine neue Platte draußen und beweist auf Birth ein Händchen für schleppenden, sphärischen Deep-House. Uns erwartet also eine bunte Mischung!

Through his wide-ranging portfolio, he not only blends the genres of his productions, but also transfers them to his DJ sets. He remains, still, absolute top class.
