DJ Rush embodies the Techno of Chicago like no other.
The disco and blues albums in his parents home inspired and moved him from the age of 10 years to try and play around behind the decks. The first record players followed in mid-80s gigs at high school parties. This phase didn't let go of him and can still be heard in his sets. DJ Rush was a techno-DJ of a steady development based on club culture, originating in disco and house all-nighters in and around Chicago, in the tradition of Franky Knuckles and Lil Louis. His releases on the legendary techno and ghetto house labels Relief and Dance Mania from the early to mid-nineties are now regarded as classics. 1996 marked the great upheaval. Not only was the year the most productive of his career with releases on Traxx, Djax-up Beats, Force Inc., and his own label Kne'Deep. At the same time, he moved from Chicago to Berlin, which he still regards his second home.
Since then, he has continued to contribute to the sound of the city, bringing his influence from the Windy City, and always remaining true to his sound. His DJ sets are bursting with energy as well as almost 30 years of experience, with which he could bring ecstasy as headliner at the Loveparade or on his numerous tours. Particularly striking is the enormous versatility through which he's still able to surprise. He never shies away from experiments and wild genre jumps. To Shall We Dance? now appears with Dance To The Drums after almost 17 years of abstinence his next album and it feels like a time trip to the Southside. Original Chicago Techno. DJ Rush verkörpert den Techno aus Chicago wie kaum ein anderer.
Die Disco- und Blues-Platten in seinem Elternhaus inspirierten und bewogen ihn bereits mit 10 Jahren zum Ausprobieren und herumspielen hinter den Decks. Den ersten Plattenspielern folgten Mitte der 80er Gigs auf High-School Partys. Diese Phase ließ ihn nicht mehr los und ist auch heute noch in seinen Sets zu hören. DJ Rush unterlag als Techno-DJ einer stetigen Entwicklung, die bezogen auf Clubkultur ihren Ursprung in Disco- und House-Allnightern in und um Chicago und in der Tradition von Franky Knuckles und Lil Louis hatte. Seine Veröffentlichungen auf den legendären Techno und Ghetto-House Labels Relief und Dance Mania aus den frühen bis mittleren Neunzigern gelten heute als Klassiker. 1996 bedeutete den großen Umbruch. Nicht nur gehörte das Jahr mit Veröffentlichungen auf Traxx, Djax-up Beats, Force Inc. Music Works oder seinem eigenen Label Kne'Deep zu den produktivsten seiner Karriere, gleichzeitig siedelte er auch von Chicago nach Berlin über, das er noch immer seine zweite Heimat nennt.
Seitdem prägte er den Sound der Stadt kontinuierlich mit und sorgte für entsprechenden Einfluss aus der Windy City, denn soundtechnisch ist er sich immer treu geblieben. Seine DJ-Sets strotzen vor Energie sowie annähernd 30 Jahren Erfahrung, mit der er als Headliner etwa auf der Loveparade oder auf seinen zahlreichen Tourneen ganze Massen in Ekstase versetzen konnte.
