We welcome you to a special evening at Rituals Series at Suicide Circus on the 24th of November. Scorpion Violente are flying into Berlin for the first time to give a unique live show. A synthetic - minimal wave duo coming from East France, Scott Scorpion and Thomas Violente's sound is a distinctive use of old drum machines and synthesizers with repetitive rhythms and drones. A time machine from the 80s straight into the future comes to mind or a full on retro-feeling film, because the sound of these two is almost the definition of EBM. Scorpion Violente have released 2 great albums, one in 2009 at avant! Records and the other in 2012 at the Franco-Belgian label Teenage Menopause Records.

Morah is a talented producer - DJ from Athens, Greece. His sound merges the borders of electro and minimal wave. Overdriven rhythms with obscure middle eastern melodies driving through a dark and dramatic aesthetic.

Boris Barksdale does not keep many of the established maxims either and performs a balancing act between experimental, noise and straight techno. Albert Schweizer once said 'A friendly look penetrates the gloom like a sunbeam', but the 50s cultural philosopher certainly did not have such foreboding thunderstorms in mind. Boris Barksdale is set to appear on Violet Poison's label, Veleno Viola with an upcoming EP in 2017.

Unhuman aka Manos Simotas, our promoter, will host the night. The subject areas: gloom, and misanthropy, as he puts it, with Postpunk, Ambient, New Wave, Industrial, and Techno, being juggled behind the platters - unconventional and rude, hard and stubborn. Cotton wool, sugar coated melodies will not be found here tonight
