Liebe Feiergemeinde,
seit einigen Jahren ist in unserer geliebten Hauptstadt ein Wandel zu beobachten, der vielen von uns schwer zu schaffen macht. Trotz der 2015 eingeführten Mietpreisbremse, welche nicht für Neubauten gilt und sich durch Modernisierungsarbeiten einfach umgehen lässt, sind die Nettokaltmieten gebietsabhängig im Schnitt um 20-45% gestiegen. Dieser Umstand hat schon einige Menschen aus ihrem Lebensraum und dem damit verbundenen sozialen Umfeld verdrängt und macht es für Normalverdiener nahezu unmöglich, sich nahe des Stadtzentrums neu anzusiedeln. Parallel dazu werden Mietverträge von Kunst- und Kulturstätten nicht verlängert, sodass diese Projekten internationaler Investoren weichen müssen.
Wir, das Bass Powered Movement und die Baumhaus Bande, sehen in dieser Entwicklung ein Versagen des Senats und der Landesregierung. Denn wenn die Erschaffung teurer Eigentumswohnungen und unzähliger Büro- und Gewerbeflächen über den Bedarf an bezahlbaren Wohnraum und Treffpunkten für sozialen und kulturellen Austausch gestellt wird, fühlen wir uns als Bürger dieser Stadt im Stich gelassen.
Aus diesem Grund sind wir im September 2018 mit diversen anderen Kollektiven und ca. 10.000 Gleichgesinnten unter dem Motto "Wem gehört die Stadt?" lauthals durch die Innenstadt gezogen und haben, mit Bass untermalt, unseren Unmut kundgetan. Dies wollen wir auch in diesem Jahr wieder in Angriff nehmen und laden euch hiermit ein, euch mit uns gemeinsam schon einmal auf die nächste Demo im September einzustimmen.
Auf jeweils zwei Floors werden euch insgesamt 25 DJ's die feinste Selektion aus Techno/Deep House und Drum and Bass präsentieren und euch die Basslines um die Ohren hauen, bis ihr die Engelsglocken läuten hört!
Dear Party-Parishioners,
Recently a widespread change can be observed in our beloved capital which leaves many of us disturbed. Despite the so called “Mietpreisbremse“ (rental price break) which was introduced in 2015, it does not count for new buildings nor after modernization. Average monthy rents have risen 20-45 %. This circumstance has already repressed many citizens from their habitats. The associated social environment is obviously affected, making it nearly impossible for people with an average income to settle near the city center. At the same time, leases for art and cultural sites are not renewed, so that these institutions have to give way for projects by international investors.
We, the Bass Powered Movement and Baumhaus Bande, see this development as a failure of the senate and the state government. When the creation of expensive condominiums and countless office commercial spaces are placed above the need for affordable housing and cultural institutions, we feel abandoned as citizens of this city.
For this reason, last September various collectives paraded through the streets of downtown Berlin with 10,000 strong like-minded souls, marching under the slogan “Who owns the city?”. Berlin definitely heard our cry, and danced their protest alongside our reinforced floats. Enhanced by bass and drum loops, we made known our displeasure. That is what we intend to repeat this year and we want to invite you, to already get hyped for the upcoming demo in September 2019.
Come March 1st when we open two clubs with a total of 26 local DJs to bring you the finest selection of Techno, Deep House and Drum and Bass. With frequencies so heavy, that will let you hear the angel bells ring!
