Mediasteak präsentiert die nächste STEAK NIGHT SHOW zum Thema "Mut": Von waghalsigen Kunst-Aktionen, der Angst vor dem vermeintlich "Fremden" bis hin zu Laien-Astronauten mit einem One-Way-Ticket zum Mars. Kommt mit in eine unbekannte Welt, die Mut und Zuversicht erfordert!
Auf unserer Kurzfilmnacht in der IPSE sind auch die FilmemacherInnen anwesend, um uns beim anschließenden Q&A Einblicke hinter die Kulissen ihrer spannenden Projekte zu geben. Wir freuen uns, dass neben den Regisseuren auch Paul Leeming, einer der "Mars One" Teilnehmer, dabei sein wird.

In der Nacht zum 22. Juli 2014 hissen Matthias Wermke und Mischa Leinkauf auf der Brooklyn Bridge in New York City zwei weiße amerikanische Flaggen. Die US-Flaggen nehmen sie ab und falten sie wie vorgeschrieben zusammen. Poesie oder Bedrohung? Kapitulation oder vielleicht Kunst? Darüber rätselte New York im Sommer 2014.

We are now interplanetary.“ Im Jahr 2024 will eine private Organisation die ersten vier Menschen auf den Planeten Mars schicken. Paul Leeming und Pauls Irbins befinden sich für diese Mission in der engeren Auswahl. Die Rückkehr zur Erde ist unmöglich.

Paul fällt vor lauter Einsamkeit aus dem Bild und kommt nicht wieder hinein. Bei seinem Kampf darum wieder gesehen zu werden, lernt er die Outtakes kennen – eine Selbsthilfegruppe für Menschen mit Filmfehlern.

Mediasteak proudly presents: Our next STEAK NIGHT SHOW at Ipse Berlin. This time it’s all about bravery: We gathered up four amazing short films about people that are courageous in every sense. Follow us into an unknown world as we travel to Mars, discuss a risky art project and experience a whole new way to broach the issue of xenophobia.

It’s the 22nd of July in 2014. Two German artists, Matthias Wermke and Mischa Leinkauf, climb the famous Brooklyn Bridge in New York and replace the two American flags on top with plain white ones… The highly controversial art project sparked a debate about public safety and the borders of art.

Mars One is a private organization from the Netherlands aiming to send ordinary people to Mars in 2024. Paul Leeming and Pauls Irbins both belonged to the group of hopefuls that – until recently – dreamed about winning the competition.
