DJ Kriton, Netto Houz

About 10 years ago, DJ KRITON had the idea to start Knuggles Recordings together, at first, just to re-release in a more DJ-friendly way for more or less own use the material Markus Wegner and Ralf Maria Zimmermann had put out as Netto Houz on the L'Age D'Or sublabel Ladomat 2000 in the 90ties. As DJ and co-manager of the legendary „Friseur“ Kriton had been one of the people, who had introduced Ralf and Markus to the Berlin club scene in the mid-90ties. Since then, many nights of DJing and dancing have bound the three friends together.

NETTO HOUZ were one of the first projects releasing on Ladomat 2000 in the early 90ties, alongside Whirlpool Productions, Sensorama and others. Ladomat 2000 was also releasing remixes of songs by Ralf Zimmermann's former band Milch then. At first, Netto Houz was heavily influenced by the tracky style of Chicago house music, but developed a deeper musical style over the years, focusing the whole tradition from disco to deep house.

Club music critic Jan Joswig wrote in 2001:

„Netto Houz from Berlin were the first to make a massive commitment to neo-traditionalist deep house by their album 'Room 7107' (Ladomat 2072-1) in 1998. As a result they were the lone voice in the wilderness in a German house music scene that was just discovering the possibilities of minimal aesthetics or swinging handbags to Mousse T's party garage house (and they fell silent...).“
